Purchasing And Operations Director
Offering a basic salary of around £65,000 with a bonus of 25% in the first year, with potential to rise up to 100% bonus in time including a pension and private health cover will be reward for the successful Purchasing and Operations Director of this large independent travel company based in Sunderland, in the North East of England.
The Purchasing and Operations Director will be directly responsible for the new division of an already successful travel business, contracting with hotels for beds and accommodation and sourcing additional ancillary products from product start up to the recruitment of the new team including hotel product managers and commercial team whilst ensuring the introduction and implementation of processes and systems within product contracting and product negotiation. Backed and supported by a leading travel industry brand with sales initially being supported by an already hugely successful distribution channel of retail outlets, home workers and call centres this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchasing and Operations Director with a solid commercial and operations track record in Tour Operations or a strong individual with a background in online accommodation only and whom is able to build and create their own accommodation only bed bank.
The successful Purchasing and Operations Director will possess an unrivalled knowledge of the hotel and accommodation only market or alternatively have a Tour Operator background covering product commercial and contracting alongside:-
- The ability to negotiate effectively and build effective long term relationships with hotel suppliers and other travel suppliers
- Strong product knowledge of the global hotel and accommodation only marketplace
- A high degree of numeric and commercial acumen
- A solid understanding of all risk aspects of Health and Safety
- The ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team
- The ability to work in a wider strategic team and contribute to wider objectives and goals
