Offering a basic salary of up to GBP 50,000 with an additional annual bonus including a pension and private health cover will be reward for the successful Head of Cruise of this large independent travel company based in Sunderland, in the North East of England.

The Head of Cruise will report directly in to the Commercial Director and will be totally responsible for the profitable growth of the cruise business throughout all distribution channels

The successful Head of Cruise will possess an unrivalled knowledge of the cruise and travel market and will :-

- Develop the cruise web proposition to grow both volume and profit - including the cruise website development, optimisation and key word buying
- Establish further opportunities to increase cruise sales throughout the group
- Work with the commercial team and direct the Cruise Product Manager in negotiating and securing the best commercial terms for the travel group
- Negotiate exclusive offers, sourcing and selling of cruise allocations and groups
- Work closely with the marketing team producing effective and powerful marketing campaigns for all cruise products
- Work strategically with the retail travel general manager to develop sales within the retail travel distribution channel
- Work closely with the Commercial Director
- Train travel consultants throughout the group in the cruise product in order to boost and enhance sales opportunities
- Organise cruise promotions and FAM trips for the travel group
