If you are reading this, then you won't need to know that Primare do classy Swedish top-end Hi-fi kit. This machine is seriously elegant and weighs a ton - so you know where they have spent the money On its build quality and internals.

I have had the player for nearly six years but it hasn't had a great deal of use due to the march of MP3 and CD generated music in my hi-fi set-up. The D20 was known for its smooth and weighty presentation. Even discs that I knew were harsh and aggressive were tamed by the Primare. It also has a wonderful natural sound with precise placement of vocals and instruments - as the music gets louder, the sound stays separated and beautiful. It has been very carefully looked after and is in exceptional, unmarked condition.

Given its a Primare, it isn't laden with features. It has a digital audio output at the rear and a main on/off switch under the front left-hand corner Simple multi-tasking silver buttons on the fascia do the main functions while the remote allows display dimming, programming, repeat, a/b repeat and time functions.

If you've owned a Primare, you'll know they can be a little fussy of dirty discs, heavy vibration and trying to programme or send commands too quickly - but that is just a feature of their stuff. If you want to sit down, play a CD and wallow in fabulous sound, then this player won't disappoint.
