Sous Chef required for this popular Dining Pub / Restaurant with rooms; last year awarded its first Rosette with the AA recommending 2 for this year. A Great opportunity has arisen for a talented Sous Chef to join the 2 Rosette Head Chef.
The property location has a rural feel to it but yet it is located within easy distance of York and is easily accessible from the A1 it has several recently refurbished Guest rooms and staff accommodation on site.
The restaurant serves a regular 30 – 40 covers of seasonally changing local produce serving Modern Classics such as: Locally Smoked Whitby Haddock on a Welsh Rarebit English Muffin, Crispy Bacon & Soft Poached Egg or Slowly Roasted Shoulder of Dales Lamb on Roasted Root Vegetables, Rosemary Juice as examples
First and foremost you need passion to succeed here coupled with a desire to learn new things. Ideally if you have worked in a Country House, Gastro Pub or Restaurant for a couple of years this could be the right next move for you.
As Sous Chef you should be capable of running each section, your duties will include deputising for the Head Chef, training and motivation of juniors, placing orders, organising the kitchen Completing H&H, COSHH records etc and giving menu input.
