My client is a North East based Local Authority looking for a Children & Families locum to hold a mixed caseload of CIN/ CP & LAC within a locality team.

Job Title: Social Worker

Responsible to: Team Manager

Purpose of Job:

* To carry out assessments of need in response to requests for services, undertake
direct work progress plans in a timely manner and arrange services to support
Children in Need and their families with the aim of working towards the best
possible outcomes for vulnerable children, in accordance with the policy of the City
Council.

Principal Responsibilities

* To hold own caseload of Children in Need including child protection and children
looked after by the Local Authority.
* To provide a comprehensive social work service to Children in Need, including
assessments of need (Initial, Core and other specialist assessments as
appropriate), and care planning i.e. direct work and arrangement of services
including supervision of contact as appropriate.
* In individual cases, to participate in a process to monitor progress towards stated
objectives and review service provision, in accordance with statutory responsibilities
and Directorates policy.
* To maintain electronic and paper case records and information systems in
accordance with Directorate policy and prepare reports as required for
consideration by managers and in multi-agency meetings and in Court proceedings.
* To be responsible to the Team Manager for undertaking all work within the
framework provided by statute, the policies of the City Council and Directorate
procedures and guidance and for maintaining and promoting a positive and
professional image in accordance with the councils Code of Conduct.
