This is Winston Churchill's own history of the Second World War from a British perspective, one of the most significant historical documents ever written.

These are the first editions (published between 1948 and 1952, starting at 25 shillings and rising to 30 shillings!) and as such they're highly collectible. Check out similar items on eBay . At the time of writing there aren't any copies available through Amazon.

Important - the original was in six volumes but the sixth and last ('Triumph and Tragedy') is missing from this set. Hence the price of £40 rather than £100 or so.The fifth volume ('Closing The Ring') ends on the eve of D-Day.

The dust covers are worn but the books themselves are in good condition, just a little bit of mottling.
